Shipping Method Setup

The shipping method(s) available to you are as follows: Live Rates, Flat Rate, Free Shipping and Table Rates. Your shipping methods must be set in order for customers to make any purchases.
We have partnered with Shippo to provide you with Live Rates from USPS and the ability to print shipping labels from your Dashboard. Flat Rate and Free Shipping
When using Flat Rate, you can set a flat shipping fee for specific countries and states.
Free Shipping can be used for products that are sold without a shipping fee.
Table Rates
When using Table Rates, You choose the carrier, the rates and the calculation method.
To add the shipping method of your choice, you will follow the following steps:
- From your dashboard, click on the “Settings” menu.
- When you are within your “Settings” menu, click on the “Shipping” option.
- You can view your shipping table as well as edit the table name and rates.
- Set your shipping table rates.
- Table Name: set the name of your shipping table rate
- Table Regions: set the shipping locations you want to offer with this rate
- Use Table: this option will enable this table or disable it, if you disable a table rate, it will not be visible to customers at checkout. In order to purchase a product, a shipping method needs to be assigned. When editing your table rate, you can edit the name of your table and the shipping locations that your rate will be applicable to.
- Handling Fee: if you want to add any additional fees to the shipping rate, include them here.
- Calculation Method: calculate the shipping rate based on cart subtotal, number of items being sold or by weight.
- Table Rates: depending on your calculation method you will be presented with different options. Input rates and/or calculations. Use the “Add rate” button to add more tiers. Donʻt forget to save your changes!

To start, we have set up several shipping tables for you to easily configure, they are:
- Domestic – you can use this table to set up your shipping fees for domestic (within the USA) orders.
- International – if you are offering international (outside of the USA) shipping, you can configure this table.
- Local Pickup/Delivery – if you are offering local pickup or delivery, configure this option. Be sure to set specific zip codes within the settings to limit the pickup/delivery areas that you wish to serve.
- Free Shipping – you can use this option if you would like to offer free shipping. Free shipping can also be used when customers meet order/quantity minimums, i.e. $35+ qualifies for free shipping.
Shipping Table Rate Example
In this example, the following shipping charges will apply:
- Order totals of $0.00 – $24.99 = $2.50 shipping charge
- Order totals of $25.00 – $49.99 = $5.50 shipping charge
- Order totals of $50.00 – $99.99 = $7.50 shipping charge
- Order totals of $100+ = $9.50 shipping charge
Live Rates
If you are using Live Rates shipping, you must also input the weight/size of your products since this is needed to calculate the appropriate shipping options available. Please note: if you are using first-class shipping, you must add a custom box template that are within the first-class package limitations to offer those rates at checkout. Refer to USPS for more information on first-class mail guidelines.
Using Live Rates is a quick and convenient option. You just need a free Shippo account and connect it to our marketplace. Once complete, shipping rates will be calculated for you based on your preferences and product details.
- Enter a complete store address on the Store Settings page
- (Recommended) Enter a phone number on the Store Settings page
- (Recommended) Enter your full name on the Account Settings page
- Add at least one shipping box
- Enable at least one shipping carrier

Yes! We have partnered with Shippo. Once you connect your free Shippo account with Shop Handmade Hawaii, you’ll be able to purchase and print your shipping labels right on your dashboard!
Unfortunately, this is still a feature that we are developing. Currently, each product will be limited to one of the shipping methods that you configure: flat rate, free shipping, table rates or live rates.
If you don’t want to offer international shipping, then you would “Edit” your shipping table, and select “United States (US)” from the countries option.
If you only offer domestic shipping, any international customers(customers outside of the USA) who attempt to make a purchase from your store will not be able to proceed with an order.
If you want to provide a shipping quote per order, you should clearly indicate this within your product description and store policies.
Setup a “free shipping” method so customers can complete their purchase, then you will need to work with them directly on collecting your shipping charges. Shipping fees that are collected after a sale can be collected with setting up a product in your store specific for customers to submit their payments – or worked out off-site with a direct payment to your Paypal account of via invoice by Stripe or another payment processor/method.
If you have configured a shipping method but would like to offer the option of free shipping – you can use COUPONS! Coupons can be restricted to specific customers if you choose to.
Offering free shipping to customers when a minimum amount is spent is a popular option. For now, we can accommodate these needs with the use of COUPONS! When setting up your coupon, you can set a minimum order amount to spend before the coupon will be valid. You can list your coupon offer in your store settings (shop bio or store notice), on your product description or share via email or social media.
If you would like to offer free local pickup or delivery you need to configure this option and use the “Table Rate” shipping method.
You can limit local pickup or delivery options to zip codes so that you can control your service area.
Alternatively you can also setup delivery with a fee option by creating another table rate.
At this time, local pickup and delivery options are only compatible with Table Rate Shipping.
