3. Shop Listings

3.1. Shop owners are responsible for ensuring the content in their listing is accurate, truthful, and up to date.

3.2. Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi reserves the right to decline, edit, or remove any listing or content at our discretion.

3.3. Shop owners retain ownership of the content they provide. By submitting content (text, photos, logos, etc.), you grant Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, promote, and repurpose that content across our platform, marketing materials, and social media channels.

3.4. All public listings and uploaded content may be indexed by search engines and displayed in third-party search results. Submitted content may also be featured in Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi promotions and outreach efforts.

3.5. Some listings are created by the Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi team to help showcase Hawaiʻi-based businesses. These listings are not managed by the shop owners unless they are claimed and verified. While we aim for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that unclaimed listings are complete, current, or error-free. We recommend checking the business’s website or social media for the most up-to-date information.

3.6. To keep the directory current and helpful, Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi may periodically review accounts and listings. If a listing appears inactive — for example, with broken links, outdated info, or no recent updates — we may unpublish or remove it. In some cases, users may be contacted before removal, but this is not guaranteed. We may also remove accounts that show prolonged inactivity, incomplete registration, or abuse of the platform.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal rights to all content you upload or submit.

4.2. Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi is not responsible for any intellectual property or copyright disputes related to user-submitted content.

5. Promotion & Payments

5.1. Basic listings are free.

5.2. Shop owners may choose to promote their listing for $25 USD/month. Promoted listings are displayed more prominently throughout the site and may appear in featured areas or higher in search results.

5.3. Promotion does not guarantee increased views, engagement, or sales. It simply offers additional visibility within the site layout.

5.4. Payments are securely processed through Stripe. Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi does not store or access your payment information.

5.5. Promoted listings are billed monthly and renew automatically unless canceled. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. All payments are non-refundable.

6. Collections & Saved Listings

Registered users can create and manage Collections to bookmark favorite shops. These saved lists are tied to the user’s account and securely stored in our database.

7. User-Submitted Events

Shop owners may share event details (e.g., pop-ups, markets, workshops) on their listing. All event information is the responsibility of the shop owner. Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi does not verify or guarantee event accuracy.

8. Limitation of Liability

Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use — or inability to use — the site or services.

9. Indemnification

By using the site, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi and its team from any claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your content, your actions, or your violation of these terms.

13.2. Listings that do not meet this geographic or product-based criteria may be edited or removed without notice.

14.1. Users must interact with the site and others respectfully. Spam, impersonation, harassment, or abusive behavior is strictly prohibited.

14.2. We may remove content or restrict access for behavior that undermines the integrity of the platform.

15.1. Your use of this site is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

15.2. By creating an account or listing a shop, you agree to receive emails from Shop Handmade Hawaiʻi related to your account, listings, or site updates. However, certain transactional or service-related emails may still be sent to support your account or listing activity.
